FIVE

I'm getting married in 5 days. It's a pretty unreal feeling, a way impossible of explaining, but the excitement is out of control. A blend of nerves, simply because this is a huge deal, nothing to be taken lightly. There is excitement, profound joy that consumes me unlike anything ever has before. Excitement to marry the most amazing man I've ever encountered, excitement to see all of my friends and family in one room, excitement for a week in Costa Rica, etc, etc.

Last week I went to Tennessee to visit my best friend/Maid of Honor of 15 years, Allison. Christie, another best friend, joined the fun. It was a great, but too short, "final countdown adventure" before this week. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the trip to Johnson City, Tennessee.

This was after we jumped off some big rocks into extremely freezing water. Not as cold as the Colorado River in Grand Canyon, but very close. This is Steven (Allison's boo), Allison, Christie and me.

Us on top of the fire tower.
Steven and Allison. This was my first time to meet Steven and he is an incredible man who I quickly gained much respect and love for. They are a great match and I am really excited to hang out with them and Mark this week - double dates!

The next time I post, I'll be Caroline Fontenot. See you then!

Lauren & Austin {Engagement Session!}

This is about 2 weeks overdue! Austin & Lauren were fun to take photos of for multiple reasons: #1 - I personally know them both. #2 - they are incredibly photogenic and #3 - it was my 2nd engagement session so I was stoked!

I went to high school with Austin and interned with Lauren, who I call 'Zeta', for Young Life a few years ago. I remember Lauren telling me her and Austin had started dating while we were sweeping pine needles at Young Life's Froniter Ranch last summer, and lo and behold here are their engagement pictures!!

I'm starting with my favorite one first. We actually started the session at the Mercer Arboretum and finished in Old Town Spring. These photos, though, go in the opposite order.

My favorite - I climbed on a roof, thanks to Mark my incredibly strong fiance assisting me, and took this picture looking down. Thanks to the perfect lighting, it turned out amazing! Austin's eyes are so bright in this and with the contrast of the cobblestone and Lauren's dress, it makes for the best photo of the day.
They are very talented dippers. Plus, solid walls are pretty much my favorite background.
Texas! In Old Town Spring.
On a caboose in Old Town Spring -
Ella, their dog. I am not a fan of small dogs but she was sweet, I admit.
I made them kiss about 100 times or more. Nobody complained.
Old Town Spring on a Sunday - perfect for a photo session because everything is closed and there isn't a car or person in sight!
The Mercer Arboretum - this was a really neat maze I made them stand in.
Love this one on the bench.
Tree huggin! Austin really wanted a picture poking out behind a Palm tree, which inspired me to make them take this one.
Everyone needs a good jumping picture.
They might look like monkeys, but I think it's adorable!

They were so much fun to photograph and I am already so excited for their wedding in June!

The Eckerts

I have 3 posts to make this week. This one, the engagement session I did last weekend, and a fun series I made Saturday on the Bitterroot River in Montana using my Dad's Olympus Stylus 1030. But for now, I present to you the Eckert Family! These are all taken in the Eckerts front yard after about 3 rained out attempts.

Adam's dimples are killer!
I love this one because of Sandy in the background smiling at Adam:

Not sure why, but this one of his finger in his mouth is a favorite.
The lighting was perfect in this one patch of the flower bed.

Adam was distracted by the lawnmowers across the street, but I love the expression on his face with Anna, Josh, and Sandy watching him (though Anna is posing for me, as always).
I wish Adam was in this one, but I love all their expressions.
Doesn't get much cuter than this...
Except for maybe this!

Check back very soon for another post! Until then, I'll be frolicking throughout Montana where the temperature is currently 49 degrees.

Eido?

Does anybody actually read this? Very possible not, considering I have about 3 posts.

I have been pondering whether I want to keep "Eido" as my business name, or switch to my new name when I get married (in 37 days mind you!)  I have ideas brewing in my mind around the name Caroline Fontenot and [CF] and what I could do with these things. Leave your input as a comment if you have one, either encouraging or discouraging me. And pass my blog/website along - it's time to network!

In other news, we had a 30/60/90 celebration for Nelson, my Dad, and grandpa this past weekend in Boerne! Lots of mexican food, margaritas, and family I don't get to see often. Here are few photos from the event.

This is Averi, my second cousin. She loved the camera!
Papoo, the youngest 90 year old in the world.
The 30/60/90 year olds blowin' out their candles!
With Dad!

Jen & Josh; or, The JD's! {Wedding}

If you're reading this, you probably know that this was my first wedding to cover - a huge deal! A friend of mine recommended me to Jen after seeing the first engagement session I did, and despite the busiest weekend of my life, I was able to drive up to Austin and shoot this great wedding at Star Hill Ranch!

I met Jen last summer at Frontier Ranch while she was an intern and I was visiting Mark for a few weeks. I thought she was great and only think greater of her after spending these hours pre and post her wedding.

Jen & Josh Dillender (As I call, the JD's) were a blast to shoot! I told friends before hand that they're such a photogenic couple taking pictures of them would be an easy job for me. Here are a few of my favorites!

Glad that even as the photographer, I chose to look at the groom when the bride came out.
This shot is precious!
So I was caught taking pictures instead of praying with them,
but after seeing this photo, I was very thankful I did!
Sparklers always have and always will be my favorite.
This is my favorite picture I took all day and night and the last one of them.
Josh had really fun groomsmen who let me know that they were about to surround Josh's mom and pull off this dance. Probably my favorite picture from the reception of people dancing!
Followed by my second favorite.

Mark comes to town!

This weekend Mark came to Austin for a short but sweet trip!
Here are some pictures to prove it:

Friday night at Hula Hut

The Capitol of Texas!

Henry.

Mark climbed a tree on the Capitol lawn to impress me.

and it worked.

We went to watch the millions of famous bats fly out from under South Congress bridge. So did these people.

Oh, and I forgot to mention our Sandra Bullock sighting in the airport. I don't have a picture to prove that, so you'll just have to trust me.

Jessica Skobel

My first blog post! One day this blog will look much cooler than this, but it works for now. Let's get started, shall we?

Jessica's older sister, Christie, is one of my best friends. I was really excited when Jessica asked me to take her senior pictures because that meant I got to hang out with the Skobel family, a wonderful blend of Italy and Poland.

The Skobels live in Rockwell within walking distance to the lake which made for easy photographing.

I love all things sailboats, so taking these were a blast! (I'm not sure where that love came from, considering I have only sailed one time).
